Checked the Glossary and could not find a definition for "type set".
I have some ideas. Would my Lincoln Cent set qualify?
Thx Jim

A type set can be a whole lot of different things. Generally it's referring to one of each type of a given parameter. A US coin type set would be one of every different kind of US coin to be made. You can break it down in many different ways though, one person might do a 20th century type set, another might do a type set of everything except gold coins. You could have a type set made up of coins that all pictured your favorite animal, any coins featuring Panda's on them for instance. A set of Lincoln Cent would generally be referred to as a date set if you only cared about having one coin to represent each year. A date and mintmark set would be a set of all dates and every mintmark for those dates ie a complete set. It's up to you if you want to consider any of the error coins necessary to be complete.

A type set....http://w2up.home.mindspring.com/dan...type_set.htm

one of each type of coin that has been minted. The Dansco 7070 is the preferred album and covers the 19th through the 21st centuries. It is not all inclusive, but a very fun and educational set to put together.

Thank you both Myst and Becky. I really appreciate the complete description, Myst, makes it easy to understand. And, Becky, what a great "type set" . Now you have given me another challenge and I am always ready to try another one.

I forgot to credit Barry from the CU forums for that set. I only wish it was mine.
