Machine Doubling damage. However, because the date is doubled, there is value in your coin, even at that grade. Doubled dates of the George V series were well described in the Zoell catalogues, and even down to VG grade, they are worth a couple of dollars. It is a progressive error, you can find doubled 2, doubled 52 and doubled 952.

Here is one with the doubled 952, that I found a couple of years ago:
