The durn-burn spell check or grammar-fixer thing keeps turning all my lower case eyes into something that could be mistaken as ells!! I've resorted to phonetics!!

A question about the coin itself to get this topic back on track. Is the line across the I a dark spot or an actual "chunk" out of the I? This may determine how much I'm willing to bid for this coin.

Well...maybe for YOU. Do you know off-hand what it would cost me to send a 1 ounce envelope (containing a nickel) and do I have to fill out any other paperwork?

(I know that I oughta know this stuff but generally, no, I don't ship to Canada - so I'm a little ignorant)

HippieOutcast: Eye just finished examining the coin. It's pretty hard to tell exactly what the deal is with that eye, so Eye ran the edge of a razor blade up against it to see if there was a groove between the dot and the stem. Sadly, when Eye was done, Eye discovered that it now looks more like a (keyboard) colon rather than a dotted eye.

Eye am, of course, not the least bit serious about what Eye what I just said.

It does appear to be a well placed strike rather than a dark mark. And Eye assure you, the strike occurred before Eye took possession of the coin!!

Seriously...looking at it through my 30X loupe, it really appears to have been minted as a lower case eye. I'm not saying THAT happened, I'm just saying it's incredible how it looks like a perfect dot over the stem...moreso in hand than in my photo.

(Okay...someone go ahead and say that I'm trying to "jin up" the bidding...but it does look like the second letter in like.)
