Been working on a Norwegian type set for a few months now (kind of randomly started collecting Norwegian coins and now I keep finding older coins that I like more and more).

Got a few of these from DVCollector, so a big shout out to him for his help!

Somehow I've missed this thread until now, but a few of these look familiar.
Glad you like them--you've collected a nice group! I should have brought back more coins from my last trip to Norway, such as the 20Kr coin with the Viking ship--but I spent them all on gifts.
You might enjoy checking out my tour of the Kongsberg Mint Museum. You'll see machinery and dies used to mint some of your coins.

Haha, I bet some of these look very familiar. Most of my favorite/better/older coins are from you.

That's really cool that you have visited Norway, do you go often? I want to visit so bad. Hopefully one day. I enjoyed your post about Kongsberg too, thanks for the link!

Actually, that was my first time--I got a lot out of it, it was fun!
So last time I did during the winter, next time I'll go in the summer.
Btw, coins of the type you got from me are pretty high in Norway--2-3X my prices.
I didn't buy any coins there, but once I got home I picked up a few ones from dealers.
I collect Norway from before 1820--I like the handwork on the dies.

Very nice! I love the character that older coins have especially with hand details.

Other than the nice condition, what's interesting about that coin is the lion.
My coin has a lion with a longer snout, while all others I've seen resemble the lion below. I have yet to find a match to mine.
