Here are some results from my first few cleanings after a week and a half in distilled water.

I am assuming the second last coin is encrusted in lime.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

These are OK I think, all but the last two can be pinned down to Emperor and mint with pretty tight dates.

Maybe lime on the second to last last one looks like a goner sadly.

Looks like it's going well. The third coin is done - that remaining dirt is a nice added touch which I think looks nice.

Your 4th coin is a Constans (its rumoured to depict him crossing the english channel to visit us Brits). I'm yet to find one of them!

You also got an VRBS ROMA which is a good one - placate the romans when they changed the capital to constantinople.

Again...thanks to all for helping me with the coins.

Is there any way to pinpoint the time of minting of the prutah?

I'll try and get a few more pics out later today.

I think I have enough uncleaned coins to keep me busy for a while!

Well done

The details of the Prutah are nice, with the Wheat Ears.

The last coin is a puzzle, is it silvery? And so maybe a Billon Antoninianus?
Because I could not see any "orange" copper alloy colour underneath it, in which case it would either be a copper coin caked in lime encrustation or a Fourree (plated silver ancient counterfiet).

Can try some lemon juice to brighten them up.

Actually, it's barley on the reverse of the Herod Agrippa coin. Corn or Maize didn't make it to Europe until 15th-16th centuries.

Herod Agrippa I ruled 41-44 AD. During that time is when the coin was minted.

Here is my coin.

First-Attempt-At-Cleaning...

Judaea, Agrippa I Æ Prutah. Dated Year 6 = 41/42 AD.

OBV: AGRIPA BACILEWC, Umbrella-like canopy with fringes.

REV: Three ears of barley between two leaves, date L S at sides.

REF: Hendin 553, SGI 5567, AJC II 11
