I recently purchased a number of UK commemorative crowns from forum member kuhli. They came in their commemorative "folders" that basically has some pictures, some details about the history of the coin, and the coin itself kind of embedded into plastic as part of the folder. I want to remove the coins from the folders and stick em in 2x2's so I can display them all in a binder with my other commems. My questions to you guys are:

1) How much is resale value affected if I somehow remove them from the folders?

2) Do you guys know an easy way to remove them? Or is it basically cut carefully around various edges to preserve the folders as much as possible?

Thanks!

I will keep them in folders. At least it authorizes the coin and shows the mint state, etc. Especially important, I think, when you get tired of them and would like to move forward.

I agree with monster keep them in the original folder. Taking them out will cut the value of them and in the folder you can always know more about the coin than you could put on a 2x2
