Anyone going to this show? I'll be there on Saturday. 120 dealers sounds good but could just be overwhelming

If I can get out of work early enough, I'm going.

Howdy!

I am sitting out this show as I have spent too much money on coins recently.
I'll be back for the Oct. show.
Would one of you kindly asked the ANACS representative if he was there last September? If so, he not only
accepts submissions but actually knows how to grade himself! A good resource. Get his name please.
Tell him I was the guy who showed him two Barber quarters and sat at the BCCS table. He replied with a bad word.
"What were they thinking about?" He disagreed with their designation of having been cleaned.

Two dealers, if they are there, I can recommend are:

Brad from Brad's Coins. He is good with kids. And a JOKER!
Vinny from Fairchester Coins. He travels the country and no doubt has a few coins he picked in Orlando. These two guys are local for me. Vinny will accept a down payment and hold the coin for you. He will then mail it to you upon payment in full. Tell them that Matthew from New Haven sent you.

Check out also who is staffing the BCCS and LSCC tables. The three tables should all be right next to each other.

WEAR COMFORTABLE SHOES! The floor is rock hard.

It is not a packed room and there is room to sit away from the actual bourse. Someone posted photos from the
FUN show and THAT would scare me. The Manchester Expo is less intimidating.

I am envious of you who can attend.

Oh, and pick up a copy of the latest free newspaper. I think that it is called "The Elephant."
Has a coupon for a dollar off on admission.

Got kids?

Children's Introduction to Coin Collecting program
(YN) at 10:30 Saturday

They do a great job keeping the kids entertained and hand out freebies.

The show was great! This is the biggest one I've ever been to. Most of the shows I go to are the local type with 30-40 dealers. There were probably over 80 at this one and maybe even more than that. Plenty of stuff to droll over including some insane proof Barbers and proof Trade dollars. I'm definitely going to this one again. It would be a perfect spot for a CCF table (hint hint Bobby!)

I second the idea and would be happy to do "double duty." My "official" position is that of a BCCS educator.
I stay at the hotel and am in the hall from before opening until after it closes.

It is rumored that this show, and others like it, MAY become a viable alternative to national shows.
Cost for the dealers, and collectors cannot always travel to the major shows. Manchester has a large regional airport
which services the entire east cost. Chicago too, I believe.

Gothic Florin, I am happy to hear that you had a good time. Shall we meet in October?

Sounds like a plan Matthewvincent! Perhaps we can get a few folks there from CCF. I know there are a number of folks here from MA and NH.
