Interesting that they are the same date though, didn't pick up on that at first. Funny coincidence.

the date thing is kind of weird ? well its still a guess really ...@ SPP I still think the weight would be off or would the wear not be uniform with the sand paper theory ?

If it was sandpapered I would think it weight less because metal will be "removed",a Dryer Coin shouldn't loose much weight because the metal is just being "moved" and not "removed". Just my Two Cent worth of info.

@ john1 Any time I sanded metal at work or wood some material is removed and to me the weight would change.. With the amount of wear on this one The weight would surely be off.. Oh and another thought... All the theories on sandpaper are missing 1 thing... How could only the inside rev & obv be affected ..The rims are in tact and same thickness ?

Who said anything about sandpaper? Reread my original answer....

There is no wear. Smoothing or distressing, caused by something like a dryer would not decrease the weight.
