I would like to find a plastic holder for my coins that would be the same size as the graded slabs. I want to put together my collections so that I can mix my raw coins in with the few graded coins that I'll actually be able to afford. I'm looking at some of the slab holders from Coin Wizard, but are they the same size as the graded slabs?

I plan on making a large wooden tray with cutouts to allow for viewing of both sides of the coins. Second question.... Are the slab containers from Coin Wizard air tight? If so then this would open my options for wood types.

Ugh.... Are all TPG slabs the same size even?

(so sorry if that's not allowed mods, I just checked the rules and hope I'm not breaking any)

But anyways they have slabs that are very very close to the PCGS slabs, there what I use for my raw coins..
I've never checked the site you said, so I'm not sure if there more or less expensive, these are $1.75 each.
I do not believe they are airtight though.... I keep them in binders in 9 card pages so I don't mind.. I'm not sure what wood would do though...

No worry, Nathan. If it was bad, you would know it immediately after you posted.

No, they aren't. The current NGC holders are essentially the same height as PCGS' holders, but they are slightly narrower. The ANACS and ICG holders are also slightly different.

The link provided by NathanASE is a good one if you are looking for holders that match the PCGS slab size. I use them for a number of medals that I collect, and am happy with them. As already noted, they are not perfectly air tight, but are about as close as you can get without having them sonically sealed like they are from the TPG services.

I'm thinking that I'm just going to have to buy the cheapest PCGS, NGC, and ANACs coins that I can find. Lay them out and figure out the tolerance between them all to see how I can best make it all work.

I own all 3. PCGS, NGC, ANAC.

They are all different but like the same height. You would have to do what you said to really see the difference.
