Hello to all
Please help me with some information about rarity and value of this coin
I bought this coin
It was found in England with metal detector
It is ALLECTUS Antoninianus (293-296)
Allectus became emperor in Roman Britain after he murdered Carausius and took the throne by force. He had been one of Carausius' top commanders before the murder. Allectus reigned for three years before being defeated and killed in battle with Constantius I, who had been sent by Diocletian to retake the island of Britain
The coin looks nice and has a beautiful dark patina
Obverse: IMP C ALLECTVS P F AVG.
Reverse: TEMP-ORVM FELIC/ S | P / C.
'C' mint - Probably Camulodunum (Colchester) in 293
The location of the mint indicated by the mintmark 'C', found on coins of Carausius and Allectus, is uncertain, but numismatic opinion favours Camulodunum (Colchester)
Weight: 4, 0 grams
I searched on more sites (wildwinds, coinarchives... etc) but I did not find this type of reverse
I would like to know how rare is this coin ... and what would be the right price for it
Thank you so much
I will really appeciate all your answers
Best regards
Ioan
