So basically I am a silver collector, but I have a grandson who is 10 months old. I have collected about 15 boxes of pennies with the hopes that when he gets a bit older we will spend some time sorting pennies and building a basic set or 2, with what we have.So my question to all of you with experience in the penny market, what should I do with the 2 boxes of bu 2011 pennies? At best we will only need a few of them. I hope this topic is o.k. that I started so I don't have to jump all over the board looking for answers. Thanks for any input you have to offer..

Go through the roll of BU 2011 and take the best 5 from each roll and make gem rolls of the best coins

I say just keep the 2011's aside for now and maybe sell them in a few years to help fund your grandson's new "addiction". Worst case scenario is that they are always worth face value at the bank. Also, keep one sealed with the RCM tape still intact if you can.

You should send me 1 roll to check for you lol.

No seriously I would keep them if you can afford to and sell them off down the road maybe a roll at a time, everyone kept got 2012 rolls and boxes, how many kept got 2011,i dont have any 2011 rolls I do have 2012 though, but I would keep a few rolls for yourself.

Don't forget there are mag and non mag do you know which ones you have.
