Need some help. Looks ancient Roman but I'm far from a pro at identifying ancient coins. Any help?

Thanks

Looks like a modern tourist knockoff with a generic head and nonsense letters to me.

Great photo, by the way.

I disagree. Thats no generic head and those arent generic letters.

Its read: CONSTANS MAX AVG and GLORIA EXERCITVS

The mint mark is SMALB (beta) (alexandria mint).

I have one nearly just like this. I see no reason to question its authenticity, but if its fake its been cast copied - check for a seam around the edge. No reason to fake this kind either.

There is no seam around the edge. Any idea on what it is? And approximate year dated. It is also smaller than a U.S. Dime

Looks fine to me other than being aggressively over cleaned.

It is a Constans RIC VIII 7
Constans AE3. CONSTANS MAX AVG, laureate, draped, cuirassed bust right / GLOR-IA EXERC-ITVS, two soldiers holding spears and shields with one standard between them, S-R to left and right of banner, dot on banner, SMALB in ex.

Any idea on value if I were to sell it?

Not exactly sure on how rare or desirable this type is. But as a rough guess, if it still had its patina I would probably pay 50.00 for it. As it sits I probably wouldn't even buy it. But maybe 20-30.

It's a nice coin of the emperor Constans, it's fairly common and in this condition is worth about $20.
