Johnsderry Valued Member Ireland 374 Posts	Posted 02/06/2013 1:12 pm here is my newest bunch of coins which I bought 20 minutes ago on ebay . this picture is the sellers pictures. I see some medals or tokens in there but I'm not sure what they are . I also see some silver coloured coins in there but I dont no if they are silver or where there from . please comment if youve got any info for me. The one with the shield on it, with a hole in near the bottom left, is a "memory of the good old days" false-guinea card game counter; the one at top left with "ONE PENNY" clearly visible is a worn and damaged British tradesman token from the late 1700s or early 1800s (known in America as a "Conder token"); the silvery one next to it is, sadly, not silver but a "Readers Digest" fake Austrian ducat; many of the others in the centre and left are old pennies, halfpennies and farthings. I don't know what the little silver piece near the bottom right is. Don't say "infinitely" when you mean "very"; otherwise, you'll have no word left when you want to talk about something really infinite. - C. S. Lewis Report this Post to the Staff

greeniejim Valued Member Ireland 215 Posts	Posted 02/07/2013 08:01 am Indeed John a nice little collection, and yep it appears like the bottom left one is indeed a WW1 victory medal, I know the chances are MILLIONS to one, but if it happens to have Peter Conway Gunner 40345 RGA on it........(Well against all odds they did find Richard III in a Carpark) I think the small silver one bottom right may be a Church or Temple token, although the christian cross is unusual? greeniejim Valued Member Ireland 215 Posts	Posted 02/08/2013 2:42 pm Looks like a nice wee lot you got there John, and yes Peter Conway was my mothers first cousin killed in April 1918 in France/Belgium in WW1 and I have his 1914 Star Medal, I am trying to find out what happened to his other 2 or 3 he would have got.
