Went to three schools today they have all been searched by us and I am sure others within the last year but we still did good. Was going to go out again today but work stuff got in the way.

is the tiny bit of aluminium foil on the pencils enough to set off your detector ?

It's enough to set mine off. Last Friday I found a plastic toy gun that was buried just under the surface. I thought how in the world did it locate that? After cleaning it up, I found that it had a really small metal pin in the trigger. I'd say less than a 1/4 inch long and the diameter of a pencil lead.

Pretty much any metal thats less than 2 inches down will set off the detector. After about 2 inches it needs to be dime sized of bigger fro the discriminator to tell you what it is
