well after claiming I wouldn't have any new coins, I got one in the mail today, given to me by someone...if you go hunting you'll find this coin has been posted here before. the first of the type for me and I appreciate it!

I'm glad you have continued your interest in the coinage of the Indian sub continent. Interesting. If you notice the Gupta silver coinage like this is actually an imitation of the earlier Western Satraps coinage. Its got the right facing bust and Brahmi script on the reverse. With a little imagination and a trained eye you can see some of the Garuda(winged monster guy) also on the reverse. I notice your bust is a bit worn making exact ID difficult, a great coin none-the-less. I am surprised that more people havent gotten into collecting coins of more exotic empires. We need the strange and usual.
