Syria is viewed by the markets as a non-issue.

Only because nothing happened yet. I don't know how paper PM's will react but rest assured oil and gas will certainly go up and God only knows what else...markets will view as an issue after a Syrian strike

@Miggs

sorry my friend, but you are wrong-

1- crude has already for months been working to break out of a range, it has down so before Syria

2- refined product, AKA gasoline has rolled over, this would not be happening if Syria was a major event.

3- gold and silver have been ZZZZzzz price wise

4- Defense stocks have not received any sort of price spikes with Syria

5- The long bond continues to decline.

For these reasons, and As I said before, Syria is a non-event. Even if the US gets involved, markets will shrug off what happens. The markets already know about Syria and again, its not going to rocket up anything.

The market could care LESS about Syria, I am putting my mouth where my money is, I am LONG this market right now, and theres nothing from Syria thats making stocks not set up. Shoot you cant even get the japanese yen to get going, which is also a safe haven.

I want to add again, the markets work in the future. Their price action makes assets turn AHEAD, whether up or down, before the actually news gets out.

So again, for that reason, I am sure Syria is a non-event even with the US involved. I have been in this sort of situation before and its ALWAYS the same thing, nothing ever ever ever changes.

Anyone you hear on TV or read in the papers, is simply talking or giving their opinion or biased position.

Nobody (except deep insiders) can say what happens to gold and silver next. But I remember back in 2007 all the talking heads in mainstream media
saying gold is in a bubble and kept saying it as the price was going up and up. Safe to say now that wasn't the case. In this reality check video,
hopefully members sitting on fence of purchasing PM's might be convinced to act before its too late.(for all who are fortunate enough to acquire).
Since its low of $1180 gold gained back a solid $200 in mere months. The trend can still be a downward one but world conditions and events all ongoing
will NOT keep PM's down. More and more people around the world don't trust the financial wonderland we live in.

So as gold slips AGAIN in backwardation Jim Sinclair writes;

"The West is not entering a period of economic expansion. In fact, we are on the threshold of the opposite. Predication of lower gold on today's ISM release is a reach.

Gold is lower because the paper gold market still holds on to it's position as the price determining mechanism. That position of paper pretend gold that is waning.

Soon the real condition of lack of supply in the above ground supply of gold will take over price determination and gold will trade at a new high as part of this rally from just below the $1200 Angel."

Really? Didn't they start their own QE program last year? In which The Japanese have already started feeling the inflationary effects thereof.

yes, after the USD, the japanese yen has been viewed as a safe haven. Yes it has been bumped around hard. But, I dont see it spiking at all, in any sort of manner that indicates Syria is going to make things terrible.

As far as your second comment, to me, I been seeing that sort of thing for a long time. Bottomline- there is no panic and fear that are going to help gold and silver skyrocket.

Gold and silver will need some other catalyst, as I have been saying for a while now, to get it back to where it was.

Finally, please allow me to correct your first statement of the one comment you posted. In the commodity market there are no "Deep insiders". In fact I would ask, just who are these supposed deep insiders? The only one who knows where gold is going and what it will do and when, is the market itself. IT will make its move manifest by its price action, set by the market, not by someone who says go and buy gold.

IF some of the worlds largest hedge funds that control massive amounts of gold (Paulson, Soros) cannot control the price, and have exited gold, what could possibly make one think that "deep insiders" know whats going to happen next.

So while I love and view Miggs as a good friend, I strongly disagree with his view regarding gold. Gold and silver had a great run and for now their time has come and gone.

Keep in mind thats the same guy who predicts 50k an ounce gold, told everyone to pull all of their money out of banks, and uses Nazi comparisons as scare tactics for money being seized which hasnt happened.

He makes his money and stays famous by making bolder and bolder predictions as his previous ones failed to come true. He wants it to go higher for personal gain and relevancy.

For one Goldman Sachs, they opened their mouths twice about gold and correctly "predicted" how the wind's going to blow.

And if the Fed can monetize your debt to the extent it is, why can't they also direct hedge funds in any they want up or down?
Just as long as they make money on the way there. As George Carlin said; "Its a big club but you ain't in it"

@ basebal

I have no idea if Sinclair predicted 50k gold and he has nothing to do with the video I posted.
I know James Turk sees gold going to 10K, I'm sure you'll let us know what he did wrong.

Its not because Cyprus didn't happen here yet that it can't.
I assure you that in the Canadian 2013 budget there is provisions for a "bail-in" in the "rare"
event of a failure of Canadian banks of systematic importance. If you want the reference, I'll post it

This is the kind of propaganda I'd like to steer away from. Price action and focusing on what the market is telling me, with patience, is looking better and better.

I was responding to the quote. He started around 4 to 5k that didnt happen then went to 10 or 20 I believe and now hes up to saying itll hit 50k by 2014 and that everyone should pull every cent out of any account they have right now and put it into metals.

I dont know anything about him but I know even with inflation calculated it didnt even reach that level during the desperate early days of WWII. If WWII couldnt get it there I have a hard time believing we will see it now.

There may be for Canada, I dont doubt your knowledge of what goes on there. A lot of things would have to go wrong for that to happen and a first world nation could off set most of it just printing money for a bailout.

As for the US, not to be doom and gloom but if the government decided everyones money was theres youd see the fastest recalls in history and it either undone or thered be a new government. Thats one of the few things that can legitimately start a civil war.

With that said though Cyrus was overblown for what it was.

Hopefully just 3 more years and we can start building that ladder for the hole

His lips say no but you can clearly see he's fidgeting and weighing his words very carefully and still says that IT could happen if a world wide bank run were to develop lol

Clearly you don't know anybody in Cyprus
Not sure your comment would be the same if your
government seized your hard earned money for no good reason.
You can be sure my reaction to the theft of my money could
not be overblown enough

Cyprus didn't seize anyone's money. Cyprus banks failed and instead of letting them fail the government took them over and assumed their debt. The debt was too big and the government of Cyprus went bankrupt and had to be bailed out. Insured depositors didn't lose a penny. It was the depositors that had balances above the insured amount that lost some of that uninsured balance. That is what happens when banks fail, uninsured depositors lose money.

LOL. quite a statement since they had no warning like you have now since it happened
I'm sure ALL Americans are well aware of this and there will be no problems or reactions when
they'll wake up one morning with 30% of their savings gone.EVEN If its above the insured amount!
Way to go JSH...
