Yea this thread is running wild. which I mean passions get going when it comes to silver and gold. Why? I dunno, to me I see them only as money making avenues, nothing more, nothing less.

update on price action to follow in a bit. please note however, in the past few days, gold and silver have not attempted that huge gap and are turning away, getting farther and farther away. the more they drop here, higher chances that getting to that gap becomes more difficult.

Again I will have an update going back in time, and breaking down the price action.

I do like you Miggs but man you like to butt heads alot for being a Canadian loljk....

You kind of remind me of myself, minus being three quarters nuts in my case lol....

Nam is right we all are NEVER gonna agree 100% of the time, but that does not mean we have to take offense or dislike each other just because we all don't see things the same exact way....

They say Jesus was a darn good carpenter and most good people who care more about helping others before the help themselves may feel that he is perfect person to copy their lives after, and his name most commonly known throughout the entire world even if you believe he even existed or not, speaks for that....

But if the entire world was just carpenters, we would have some amazing wood works through-out the world, but not much else eh....

DIVERSITY and being our own finger print is what makes us a most UNIQUE species....

A colony of termites are all basically the same controlled by one mind or chemical from the Queen. We are way more advanced and complicated of a multi celled organism then that. The way their colony works together speaks to a higher inteligence in control of all things IMO, but that is just me....

The minute that first human so many eons ago created wall ART or made their own unique jewelry or formed their own ideas and went against countless generations of the way it was before, such as the Neanderthal way of life, is when we became that UNIQUE species that we are today, whether we agree on a subject or not....

@Namachieli

wow thats a good question and one I haven't really given much attention too. I guess because well, projecting things, especially so far into the future is so difficult. Markets are always changing, there are always different dynamics at work, etc.

In my opinion, I doubt it will. In fact, one thing I have thought of and a discussion I have seen go around in the past has been how gold really didn't reach its inflation adjusted target, based on its highs made in the 80s. I do think that gold will always lag economic conditions. IT certainly has its place in portfolios but it shouldn't be the biggest portion of someones savings or holdings.

There has also been some who have said, and I have to agree from a non trading standpoint, that despite the massive QE from global central banks and gold just barely made it 2,000.... and yet we saw all these estimates of 5K, 10K etc. Silver didn't even challenge or set all time highs.

That is the tricky thing with markets and assets in general. What exactly can we expect down the road? Sometimes correlations run together, other times they decouple. It used to be that a weak dollar equaled stronger gold prices. It used to be both a strong dollar and strong gold prices would run together. We cant accurately predict the future because theres too many moving parts in the financial markets.

In the end, this is a very difficult question to answer, because theres just too many variables. Whats to say that in 50 years gold and silver do nothing but stay down? What if prices of milk change because of production costs or even because of any future reforms that affect diary produces? Lots of variables.

What I would say tho, is that an investment in the markets that keeps up with whatever current economic environment arises will be better than placing large amounts of money into gold.

thanks again for that question and I hope it answers your question!

We have to agree to disagree. It's that simple & it's not rocket science.

@Yup

Thanks for the insight. Not the 'yes' I was looking for, but definitely some food for thought.

Thank you.

man you like to butt heads allot

To be honest Silverhawk my intent wasn't to butt heads at the time but re-reading my posts just now, I guess it does look like it. And if I offended you, Namachieli or anybody else, I am truly sorry.
btw; I enjoyed your post and its analogies

That said, I just want to go back quickly to Nam's post about the video, (which is somewhat relevant to this thread)
Nam was quick to point out one factoid which in mho I still can't see its relevancy to the bottom line message in the video. The Mint didn't use the treasury working stock because as the report states just before, the treasury does not have enough silver to meet the Mint's demand. And that's why, because of price volatility, they started hedging and procuring themselves silver elsewhere and maybe explains why they halted sales a few repeated times.

Namachieli mentions the 2 gentlemen might be "leading" with their story to support an opinion they want us to have. Then says that "it is really easy to manipulate people when you only show them a specific set of factors". Which is (again in mho) exactly what Nam did in his post (if we're intellectually honest) and omitting to point out the real story here, which is HSBC's major conflict of interest (IF I understand this correctly) by being the Mint's trading partner's accountant which gives them insider information about the Mint's figures and sales projections, at the same time having huge silver short positions (over the legal limit) and holdings by the CME figures. While they're being hedged by JP.Morgan, they can play the market with complete legal cover since their doing it (in)directly for the US government. Which explains (in part) why the 4 years CFTC investigation into manipulation went and still is going nowhere.
It might not be The smoking gun but where there's smoke there's usually a fire...

Not offended. :)

And if you follow much of what I've said over the last few years here, I'm one of the strongest believers in the egregious and blatant manipulation of the Silver market by JP Morgan and their poker buddies.

With the video, I was simply playing devil's advocate. I was only dissecting the video from a different view point. Notice I didn't provide any counter proof, as someone would who believes in the opposite of the video.

Honestly though, that video is pretty leading. "Whoa, look at that, now look over here... Look at that coincidence, but oh, don't take it from me.. look at the facts!" Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck use very similar tactics, just more obvious.

Miggs, I agree with your position 100%, but its too easy to get in a circle and pat each other on the back about how right we are. I believe there is a term for that

I should have said you come off more-fired up verses butting heads bad choice of words lol....

Nothing wrong with being fired up on your beliefs as I know I often am....

Silver manipulation JP Morgan well sure that has been going according to the YELLOW BRICK ROAD via Frank L Baums masterpiece Wizard of oz, ever since they first pulled the silver dollar back in late 1800's eh....

Don't even get me started on OZ or as we refer to it as what it is, and ounce of gold lol....

I think it is relevant to point out Frank was poor or more blue collar at-least starting out until his work The Wizard of Oz found the public eye....

Meaning he would have very possibly clanged to many of the big government conspiracy's of the time, such as devaluation of the currency of the day, or the beginning of it all....

As his own wealth and fame grew with the book, these younger gun ho traits of sorts that many young full of pee and vinegar seem to possess, seemed to fade away.....

At-least no other real mentions of it in any of his later works or personal memoirs perhaps....

He like Nostradamus or even Newton, probably was not to open about sharing his true beliefs ideas with the world of their time, knowing such opinions were not accepted and certain times resulted in imprisonment or death....

just an update-

you see how gold and silver both hit that gap last week from 4/15 and got rejected? Furthemore, its just been a steady decline on their part. I expect some minor bounce as it runs into some support but I'd think it continues its freefall.

more later, running behind here.

I should add that the lead page speaks of a HUGE fed meeting this Wed when old Ben has to lay it all out on the table minus the smoke and mirrors, as frank as he has ever been lol....

The king of the vague statement is coming clean lol.....

And pan down and you will see Kieth is ready to re-adjust your portfolio to low cost entry level bonds ready to double in money while all the other ships sink, o.k. sure you gotta an agenda we know that sign up at bottom of page and add CC info lol.....

Will be interesting to see if the market does crash next day after this big meeting Wed as Money Morning is calling for....

Pure sales pitch. I don't believe anything that comes in the format with lines boldfaced throughout the document. It looks the the "urgent messages" I get from the NRA followed by a request for money.
