Knowing what to do, and having the stones to go "all in" are two totally different things.

i have not been on the board in months. I would love to go read through this thread from the May/June time frame and find the authors predictions of $1,000 OZt gold, have those written words revisited and have it explained to me on 8/23/2013 what happened.
Because it did exactly the opposite and I am ready to point out my sides of those days on what I "predicted".
This is why I love America; debate time!

Ok quick up date
Silver and gold holding into the EOD sitting at the HOD basically.
If you took my idea on AGQ hold into the weekend.
... and yes Hawkie, the PMs continue to be in a downtrend. There are even larger areas of resistance ahead for them both. To me, I only see a retracement, the downtrend still needs to work to be wiped out by silver and gold.
IF gold keeps moving higher into next week, I'll have some set ups to share there as well.

Yup, what period of time do you use for establishing trends? 52week, 200day, etc?
Just wondering. I really like reading your perspective.

Alright, people. What the heck is happening with gold right now? I was expecting as economies around the world improved that the price of gold would fall.

"Alright, people. What the heck is happening with gold right now? I was expecting as economies around the world improved that the price of gold would fall." I don't know my friend but I got 5 oz in stash with two most recent 1/4 pieces arriving today in Olympic 1988 and Jamestown 2007 perhaps. Both of which I got at solid prices after ebay bucks in 348 and 338 respectively.... Prob should have gotten a BUNCH of silver in hindsight, but hey that is 20/20 and gold I figure ain't all bad lol.... I am at 1335 career ebay bucks since Oct 10th 2010 when I first signed up and 327 and change with a month to go which is another gold comm piece alone on running auction. If you buy MUCH on ebay and are not signed up for ebay bucks, you should sign up asap, and that is as they say, true golden info ;).....

Long term fundamentals for all-time record high PM prices are in place. It could be next year and could be 5 years from now.
The U.S.A. continues to destroy it's currency in a futile attempt to prop up the equity and housing markets. Our "real" economy is 20% smaller than the one we're trying to prop up; Once we accept that fact and allow the forest fire to burn? Then we can re-build from what's left. Until then it's a shell game with no real winners.

Quote: I get your "everything is politics", but when the Fed makes monetary policy, "signing off on it" is just a formality, for show of protocol. Its only a formality because theyve all had their input by the time its announced. QE doesn't happen without approval from everyone else, they can say whatever they want behind the scenes they get approval. You dont become the Fed not knowing how to play the Washington game. Quote: Have you ever heard of a Fed chairman being removed, deposed or fired?
Sure Bens getting fired as we speak. Not being brought back is a form of being fired when we all know he wasnt ready to leave. Quote: And you hear directly from the horse's mouth (with a touch of arrogance) that the Fed is independent and that NO other agency can overrule its actions, do you not believe him? No I dont believe him because saying nothing else can overrule it just inst true. Its not a constitutionally protected office. Everything else is just a matter of getting creative for how you deal with it. You can start limiting the Fed power or create something new ect. Plenty of Agencies have come and gone over the years or seen their legs cut out from under them. Theres no danger of it happening right now but you start poking them with a stick and they bite back. The point is is that everything in Washington at that level is political, the Fed can try and pretend theyre some independent office above politics but they arent. You dont get to be the head of the Fed by not knowing how to play the political game. Its just like a police chief or 4 star generals, once youre at that level youre nothing more than a figure head for the party in charges policies. If you wont do it theyll find someone else who will

Quote: I was expecting as economies around the world improved that the price of gold would fall. While its not cheap by any means it has shaved off a few hundred dollars of its price from where it was which is a pretty significant movement. 6 moths ago it was enjoying a nice run in the 1700s
