Poll Question
I have a 1912S Liberty nickel that is G4 that I plan on bringing to a local coin show in hopes of trading for something else.

If I were to approach you at your table at this show, you would:

Poll Choices
I would prefer just to buy it from you.
I would prefer that we trade it for something else on my table at the show.
I would prefer to give you a store credit for a future purchase at my store if a price is agreed on.
Leave me alone, can't you see I am trying to make money here?

If I'm the dealer, I'm looking for a trade. As liquid as a 1912-S is, I'm still not wanting to tie up any more capital than I absolutely must. It's just one more thing I'll have to pack and carry home. And I don't want to issue "store credit;" I want your transaction now, while I have you in front of me.

So look at my stuff, and don't expect me to go even-up for anything I have marked at over $100 retail. *Maybe* $125, depending on my margin on the coin in question. I'm going to mark your 1912-S (assuming it's a solid G4) at $125 and accept $100 cash for it, and in that $100 I still need to make $20.

If I don't offer something on that level, leave me be. It's only a $100 coin, but it's a liquid $100 coin.

I couldn't say it better myself.
