I'm having trouble distinguishing the date, mintmark, & initials on this Mexican 1 real piece due to its worn state. Looking at it and running through Real coins in my guide to world coins isn't getting me far fast, so looking for additional opinions on what they are from fresh sets of eyes. My best guess so far:
The G mintmark is clear, I see no signs of a small o or a following though it could have been worn off
My best guess at the date is 1832
The first initial is clearly an M...the second one looks like an I to me, or possibly a J with a really small bottom part
Anyone with a fresh perspective see/find anything I am not?

Hello Peteramadeus!

Pretty sure it's a 1829 1 Real from Guanajuato. Assayer's initials M.J. There was no small o within the G for the 1 reals of this year.

Nice little real!

Real Peso is exactly correct. The variety is common and they appear on ebay quite frequently. If you are looking for one just wait there are plenty of high grade examples available.

Thanks, RealPeso, my catalog of world coins doesn't list that this year doesn't have the small o, so I probably could have stared at it indefinitely, and I can see it being 1829 easily. Now I know exactly what this BV coin (most likely) is! Thanks for the input!
