I Was just casting my mind back to a few days ago when as I'm sure some of you know I may have have sold a coin for a bit less of its value.......it got me thinking....

A few years ago I sold an American coin,it was very small and silver,in very very good condtition from about 1890?or around then I remember it was the late 1800's early 1900's.It was many years ago on ebay when I was happy to sell pretty much anything for anything!I turned down 12 bidders from abroad and sold it for £14.....

I still have "that" bad feeling about that coin!As it was an antiques shop which bought it!

Does anyone else have any bad memories of coins lost/sold for too little or similar?

When I first started selling on ebay ,, I did not have the ability to post pictures and I was really bad at descriptions ,, I sold a few silver eagles that went for very low money ,, I think 2 or three dollars each,, everytime I see the positive feedback the buyer left ,,I get a kinda sick feeling !!

Here is what He said !!

Let's do it again sometime!!!!! you can almost hear the laughing as He collected His prize !!

Two ro three years ago I sold a 1931S Buffalo nickel slabbed MS64 in a ANACS Cache holder. It sold for exactly 50c more than what I paid for it in 1979.

Oh yeah, 1979 was a real bubble year for coins in the U.S and so I over-paid to begin with. Buying high and selling low is not the way to get rich.

Good topic. Not too terribly long ago I sold a roll of mixed date Walking Liberty halves with some better dates/conditions and it went for less than bullion was selling for at the time. I learned a very valuable lesson that in the end probably saved me a lot more than it cost me.

Hmmmmm, here's one I messed up on.

I had a set of proof Jeffersons from 1955 to 2006, including the westward ho set. It was something I got into and then decided later on I would rather sell it and use the money for something else instead of shelling out for the pricier proofs I had ahead of me in this set. I looked on ebay and saw a similar, but a little smaller, set had sold for something like 120 dollars and thought I'd let my set go for that kind of money. I hadn't sold a lot on ebay at the time and figured I'd just throw it out there and folks would bid it up somewhere near the selling price of the other set, no minimum bid or anything. Yeah, right. I got a little over fifty dollars for my set and learned another of those "life lessons" I keep running into.
