Possible Fake Vittori Emanuele III Coin?

I got this from my grandfather and have been researching it see if it is fake or not. I have seen coins with Vittori Emanuele III on them, but they typically have a different design on the reverse. This one has him on both sides. I also have included a side shot (poor quality) where it looks like two halves might have been glued together.

Has anyone ever heard of this?

Heads I win, tails you lose? Probably just as you called it - two halves glued together, perhaps as a magician's trick coin.
