Hi there.

Ive decided to collect the 1/4 gold pandas. Does anybody collect these and if so, do you have a coin box to display these? I'm trying to find a box to display these in and am looking for ideas.

I was thinking of picking up the 40coin 1oz silver panda case and maybe float them in capsules in there.

Thoughts?

Be very careful of forgeries in the Panda series. The ones I have seen are beautiful strikes in some cases.

Be sure of your source and look very closely for anomalies. The fakes are deficient in gold but watch for tungsten copies that are electroplated. They weigh the right amount and the SG is also correct.

Very beautiful coins, have you bought any yet ? I don't collect these, mostly because it is a rather costly and focused endeavour. Many of the earlier year coins have very low mintages and are quite difficult to find, much less afford. As you find your self going down the fractional scale, the affordability increases and therefore the premium over spot.

You can buy a display for 1 oz coins and get the Airtites with the ring inserts or buy the same inert material as the rings and make you own inserts. I have quite a few coins in Airtites with these inset rings and they look rather nice.

Yea so I have some silver 1oz ones and love them. I have a few 1oz silver bullion coins from around the world but I have no focus so I figure I want to do something special with a set and have decided on the pandas. 1/4 is pricey but if I only have to buy 1 a year (not including backfill) it won't be too too expensive. And ill do some math and might move down to 1/10 but don't want to go too small with this set as I want it to be significant.

As for the source, I'm not entirely sure yet. I got my other pandas through APMEX and was happy with those so I was thinking of going back to them.

APMEX has them as does Provident Metals remember to check shipping charges that definitely factors into the price.
I get many of my Pandas and Libertads at pandaamerica.com
