I don't find 1991 nickels too hard to find. For me the 1970 is the toughest. Maybe found one or two in the last month. I really do want to check my stash now for 2000 P's.

you said it best. 1970 likely the toughest.. I only have 2. but 2000-P likely 2nd most difficult to find. 1991 are not too bad as well as 2001/2006 no P ... just from my short experience anyways!

I'm an American fan of Canadian nickels. If anyone in the U.S. has a hoard or batch (the postage cost from Canada kills off bulk lots), let me know.

@3stooges: If you live relatively close to the border why not do a road trip and pick up a few boxes while in the country? The hunting is pretty good still.

After roughly 60 rolls of cupronickel set aside, I found only 1 x 1991 in a beat-up shape. But last month I found a 1970 last month with lustre and barely any scratches on it. :D

I go through around 2 boxes of nickels a month, so in the last year my totals from 24 boxes are as follows. 14 - 1970, 58 - 1991, 17 - 2000P. Here in PEI there are still plenty of pre-'82 nickels in circulation, I average around $18 per box! I guess there are advantages to living in a quiet backwater part of the country.

I looked through my nickel stash and found I only have 2 1970s. I also found a 2000p today. I'm going to go back and check through all my 2000 rolls to see if I have any more. Fingers crossed.

That story of a 1999P nickel found in a roll is amazing! Wow.

Any idea on the mintage of the 2000P? I wasn't looking for them until I read this thread. I found 3 in the box I went through so they don't seem that rare to me?

Edit - Found it: 4,899,000

Just found my first 1999P nickel! It's taken almost 3 years of doing around 2 boxes a month, but I am stoked! In great shape too!

Nice, I have not found the 99-p or the 2000w, but I am considering throwing back the 2001no-p's and the 2000p's because I find them so much of them. I also have about 7 or 8 of the 70's.
Even the 1990 Bare bellies, I have 3 or 4 full bare, and a roll of varying degrees of baldness.
