John: You tend to see many more lamination issues with the pennies from the 1930's through to the early '50's. They occasionally occur after that as well, but not as often, although for some reason you see a few more pop up again on the mid 1980's pennies. And then the most recent years of 2010+ seem to be showing quite a few of them too. I don't know if this is a universal trend or just my own observation, but I've looked over 10's of thousands of pennies and it's what I've noticed.
