It's a 20 Sols issued by the French during the Siege of Lille 1708. The wording says "For the defense of the city and country 1708".

That is Sweet! Great brown patina and details! I know knowing about this type. But I know I like it!

Thanks all. Any clue to value? It is part of my long lost token collection that has been in hiding and recently rediscovered after 30 years. Back then there was no internet search engines so if it was cool I kept it. Didnt care if it had a value. It is the size of aUS fifty cent piecebut half as thick.
