This is one coin that can definitely get a rating of rare. This is the 25 Francs GOLD coin from the Paris Mint for the West African States and the FAO series. The aluminum-bronze version weighs 7.9 grams and this piece weighs 13 grams. I have the opportunity to buy this piece and I'd love to get your opinions on this coin. There was one in an NGC holder graded MS68. This coin was sold at Goldberg's in 2006 for 1610 dollars. The same exact coin was sold at Heritage in January of 2013 and this time it brought over 3300 dollars. The coin I can get is raw. It came from an estate filled with foreign coins. Any ideas? Opinions? The seller is a very good acquaintance and he's offering me a money back guarantee. Below is a link to the Heritage information and my images. The only bad part is it looks like somebody at one time rubbed the coin with a rag or their fingers. The obverse image looks like plating loss but this is only reflections. The reported mintage of this coin is FIVE (5). I can get this coin for a VERY reasonable price.
