I was searching around numista last night, and happened to find Netherlands commemorative coins, and man are they amazing! Interesting designs and topics, so much more interesting than stuffy old portraits. Anyone else a fan? Hate them? Or like me, and had no idea?
I think Netherlands commemoratives are very nice. I just picked up one from 1980 celebrating the coronation of Queen Beatrix. She will be stepping down as queen at the end of April. I wonder if they will mint a commemorative for the new king.

The KNM (Dutch mint) already issued a €2 commem on the occasion of Beatrix's announcement. See here: http://www.knm.nl/CmsData/Artikelen...8_e_or_3.jpg But as she currently still is the Queen, she is in the foreground, and he is still referred to as Prince.
I have quite a few Dutch coins (NL is just a few kilometers away :) ), and many of their commemorative or collector coins are great. The mint sure is innovative, and this one for example I like a lot: http://www.herdenkingsmunt.nl/CmsDa...n-vijfje.jpg
