Hey, I am knew to the site but I thought I would post this and see what the community thought. it came with a Certificate of Authenticity (but NOT from one of the 2 main agencies).

Also anyone know what the Mint Mark is ( "M" )on the right side?

Sorry but it just doesn't look right. Greeks are not my area of collecting so maybe someone else will have a better take on this coin.

Trex:
Your coin looks way too good to be true. There are no signs of years of burial in the ground, and no patina either, and there is no sign of wear at all.
Your coin looks like a high quality pressure cast fake, but that is impossible to say so for sure, from the picture presented. In this case, seeing is not necessarily believing, and that can cut either way.

If was to consider to buy such a coin, I would like to examine it in hand first with close emphasis on edge examination. I would also like to discuss it in front of a dealer who knows his stuff with these. The weight of it needs to be determined.

How did you acquire it in the first place? With high value ancients, an established provenance helps to confirm authenticity.

Doucet: to post "permanent" links to FORVM fake reports, you need to click on the little "show file information" button (a lowercase I in circle), then copy the URL provided there. In this case, the url you need is this one:

Where is the certificate from, and which are the two "main agencies" of which you speak? If you mean the American slabbing companies (PCGS, NGC, etc), I wouldn't trust either of them to spot a fake ancient; it's not their specialty. A Certificate from David Sear carries the most weight with ancients collectors, but since he doesn't slab the coins he certifies, those certificates are pretty useless for subsequent trading with people you don't know, as it would be easy to swap out the coin.

In any event, wherever the certificate with this coin is from, it's not worth its paper and ink. The coin is not genuine.

Doucet and Sap, thanks so much you helped greatly. Sap, yes those were the two agencies. I'm new on here and didn't know if you could post specific names of organizations.

Glad your getting your cash back - who sold it and who provided the Certificate of Authenticity?

If your comfortable doing so please 'name and shame' them, anyone selling ancient coins and offering a CoA should be able to easily ascertain the above is fake, its not a good one or one that would take much research to confirm so they deserve to be named.

Would wait till you get your refund first perhaps though

Lots of sellers produce their own CoA, which are basically worthless.
