The Visigoths were another of the Germanic tribes I was on the lookout for, and am excited I managed to find one for my collection, and at what I think was a great deal. After sacking Rome in 410 AD, the Visigoths settled and founded a kingdom in what was formerly Roman Hispania. The Muslims later defeated and conquered the Visigoths after they crossed from North Africa in 711 AD. This particular type was minted sometime in the mid-7th century AD in Spali (Hispalis). Obv: Bust facing Rev: Cross, S in left field, R in right, Spali (I don't have it in hand yet but it's a nummus so somewhere around 9 or 10 mm, give or take)      Edited by VisigothKing

The piece is very nice.i stayed watching it,but not bid for it.The seller is a friend and very serious,with coins sometimes very curious!

Pretty darn awesome! How much did you pony up for this one? Never seen one before anywhere so I cant imagine the population is very high.
