Bullion does not attract CGT in Australia. The gold mining lobby saw to that when the CGT Bill passed through Parliament. Apparently, they were able to convince the politicians that investing in bullion was analogous to investing in shocks and scares on the shockmarket.

I now know a combiBar is a block of 50 x 1gm blocks of gold and is designed to break apart evenly. They also come in silver. Cost AU$56 per gm of gold.
