I do watch me some Gold Rush and was curious if anyone watches this newly debuted tv show/spinoff.

About The Show
This past summer, Discovery Channel cameras rolled as the world's best-known deep-sea recovery team, Odyssey Marine Exploration (OME), successfully recovered approximately 48 tons of silver bullion from the SS Gairsoppa - making it the deepest and heaviest cargo recovery in history. SILVER RUSH, a new three-part series narrated by Mike Rowe, tells the story of one of the greatest deep-sea treasure quests of all time. The series will take viewers on board Odyssey's flagship, the Odyssey Explorer, as it launches its most audacious operation ever -- locate and excavate three shipwrecks worth as much as a billion dollars all in one season. But will they be able to complete the entire recovery effort in just 90 days before punishing storms roll in?

I watched it it was pretty good and interesting. The one pair of sub operators that broke it because they just kept pulling on the deck till it was 7 tons over weight were idiots and I bet after that aired wont be getting hired very much

Yeah - those bars they kept on picking up were solid bricks (over 1000 oz bars each) - so many rows of them just sitting there for the picking! And that's only if you get past the serious historical red-tape & politics associated with oceanic shipwrecked bullion.

My two boys and I just a couple of minutes ago watched the documentary on the Atocha shipwreck with Mel Fisher. They are hooked on treasure hunting now. We will have to watch this one tomorrow. We've been buying alot of the El Cazador shipwreck pieces of eight. My youngest digs through my collection like he is just discovering it for the first time. Allot of fun.

I tried to watch but watching a robot remove silver bricks one at a time is a bit teadious like watching paint dry....

I mean for example archeology can be one of the most FASCINATING things on this planet to me when something very rare and old or maybe unknown before is found, but the process of watching a grad student remove tiny pieces of dirt one granual at a time for six weeks is something I don't want to see. Instead Fast forward 76 months to chase of the new discovery and what they learned over the previous 76 months, lol.....

I do love me some Gold Rush and Bering sea gold of course. Watching that fool Scott cry, complain, get drunk on what tiny bit of money he made on the 2.5 oz. of gold he has found career to date, and basically hit rock bottom the day after he finally started to get some gold is priceless TV as far as I am concerned. I would say he must be scripted as no human could be that foolish, then I recalled that yes there are probably 1 million football fields full of Scotts out there, lol....

I have only seen parts of one episode so I will have to watch a couple more to give since you say its pretty good....

My problem I watch TV and comp surf which is a waste of time. Ninety percent of my focus is on the comp and ten on the tube so I miss a lot lol....

My dad always said I am like a horse going through life with blinders on, lol....

Here's a pic of some of the silver. When they docked it took three armored vehicles to haul it all away.

I went back and watched a couple more episodes and I gotta say these guys are making a fortune, or at least someone is whoever gets to keep the profits....

They went down into ship hold and showed the crates. Imagine a football field full of pallets loaded with silver bars so huge one individual human would struggle to carry just one bar....

The real tragedy is the fact that the powers to be TIE UP these wrecks for years in red tape political BS which HAULTS the progress of the recovery teams....

You see, the funny part is those powers to be allow these huge industrial boats to drag HUGE buckets across the bottom of the ocean and right across the wrecks knocking cannons everywhere in essence destroying an archaeological site. Not to mention some cannons on one wreck are now missing, via pirates. It would be like someone driving a monster truck through a museum, via dragging those buckets across the bottom of the ocean IMO....
