I have an 1850 large cent here covered in gold paint. The acetone got some of it off, but this is some stubborn stuff! Any suggestions on how I can get it off without damaging the surface? What about that Goo Gone stuff?

Obviously, I know we are not suppose to clean our coins. But with old rusty, painted large cents all bets are off, lol. If I can lift the paint, and soak it in some olive oil, it will be worth filling a hole for now.

Never used it - I'll give it a shot.
