I only have this obverse photo and would like to know:

1) the year of the coin

2) country

3) denomination

4) existence of any variety or error

5) possible $ value.

It looks like a 1/2 or 1 Sol which date from 1777 to 1791. The 1/2 Sol is 25mm in diameter and the 1 Sol is 30mm in diameter. I'm not sure how much they go for though. France is your country of origin.

LUDOV. XVI is the Latinized and abbreviated version of Louis XVI.
Yes, it's French, but not enough information to go further than that.
Copper coins of that era can be found easily on ebay for less than $10.
