A Token/Medallion for CCF has been talked about on and off for several years. I think its time to actually go ahead with the project. I will be commissioning a 38mm token and making them available to CCF members. I checked with the powers that be first.
The contest is to come up with a design for either the OBV or REV of the token or both. It is open to all members with 50 posts or more including the MODS. You may submit as many designs as you like.
The contest will last 1 month from today. After which a poll will be taken and the designs with the most votes will be adopted. (After approval of the MODS)
Designs must be original and your own work no copyrighted material please.
Designs should if possible reflect what CCF is all about.
The winners of the Obv and rev will each receive a token free of charge and it will be edge lettered with their forum name.
Initially the tokens will be copper with the possibility of some silver strikes at later date. So get to work everyone and lets make something special.

I'm not good at designing but I can't wait to see what everyone makes! Look forward to getting these tokens.

Any restrictions besides the size? ie amount of detail?
Great initiative! Am staying tuned!
Edit: Would there be any copyright issues for using snipets of the design of pre-struck coins that were government issued?

I am bad at drawing but I think I can design a cool token and even if it looks bad with my artwork it should be nice when it comes out. Looking forwad to this contest!

Too much detail can be distracting some of the nicest coins are also the simplest. I can't see an issue with using design elements from other coins as long as the completed item is not a likeness of an existing item. Remember what ever wins will have to be first modeled and then turned into dies. 38mm is not a lot of real estate (think silver eagle) the one advantage you have is that majority rules rather than a single judge so its not me you have to impress it's your fellow CCFers.

Also, can we use pictures found online and then draw our own version of it as the design?

Post your submission in this thread. at the end of the contest I'll get all the obv and rev together and post a separate poll for voting. If you draw it is by default original. Not sure of the date CCF was founded I am sure the info is somewhere on the site. just search for happy birthday ccf threads
