Stumbled across this in a pile of $10.00 foreign coins. It was in a plain 2x2 marked $8. Appears to be ultra rare and worth at least $1000.00if the real deal. Its zinc and has a gun metal gray tone but shows only the lightest traces of wear I would grade it at AU.
These are very obscure coins and can be very difficult to find but I'm afraid you don't have a +$1000 coin. 1940A (Berlin) is the most common of these coins, I'd say yours if probably worth anywhere from about $20-$60 all depending on condition and who's buying it of course.
According to Krause, these coins ARE a tiny bit pricey. On the basis of the price informationin this publication, the $8 price paid for it seems about right. Interesting addition to a collection of World coins.
