Ive never seen any design like it and I love a challenge - these usually turn out to be something interesting.

Well, I've trawled about and I've got zilch. Nothing. Nada. Zip. Its a really clear design - I mean, there is not much ambiguous about it - but theres no legends on either side.

I see two figures - one is bent over/kneeling and holding a rod - the other appears to be pulling them back by the shoulder. The bust is radiate and looks to be quite late.

Anyone got any leads?

I recommend that everyone posting a coin for identification give its (maximum) diameter. How big is this thing we are looking at?

Could it be the same figure struck twice?

The coin, when complete, was roughly 22mm. But this places the figures quite low on the coin so I think the planchet has been mishaped from 18mm.

Bobby, I investigated that possibility and the 2 figures are almost certainly different. This shows no indication of a double strike. The most damning evidence is the front one has a bent neck as if to look down.
