I attended the Cambridge Coin Show today looking specifically for error coins and banknotes. This was only the second show I've attended (Brampton was the other), but I left disppointed both times with the selection of error coins/banknotes, or lack thereof. A few clipped coins is all that was on offer. Am I wasting my time attending the smaller local shows in my search for these?

I did pickup a clipped quarter, and a nice UNC $2 Devil's Face.

Coin shows are a worthwhile venue for coin hunting.

I would have thought coin shows are the best to shop. Although I must admit that many dealers have told me that they can only bring so much. So they will typically bring things that they know will likely be in demand.

I have e-mailed specific dealers before the show to bring some specific items that I have seen either on their e-bay listings or their own websites. Most of the times they have obliged.

The other thing is auctions at the larger shows. That may be a consideration
