I got this notice on Facebook today: https://www.facebook.com/events/169212899899730/March 22 at 9:00am until March 23 at 5:00pm
Be among the first in Canada to collect the newest coin in the War of 1812 series: Charles-Michel de Salaberry. We'll have both coloured and non-coloured versions of the coin available for exchange, as well as all four previous coins in this series (while supplies last). My question is--what constitute the 4 previous coins? I'm familiar with the other two quarters, Tecumseh & Brock, and I believe there was Toonie featuring the Shannon. What am I unaware of? Rob

Ah, thanks Solidifier. I'm sure you're correct. I saw on another Mint Facebook posting that the 5 + 5 packs for the De Salaberry quarters would be available on the Mint website on April 9th.

I hit the Montreal 1812 road show this morning. Was able to pick up a few 1812 Collector cards with the now 7 coins ( all 6 now-released quarters and 1 Shannon Twoonie). I asked the lady serving me if she had any rolls available. She asked which ones, and I was able to score 3 de Salabery and 1 Shannon rolls

Mikem, you scored! Solidifier & I can only drool in envy! Must see if the Winnipeg exchange will also have Shannon toonies.

Quote: Must see if the Winnipeg exchange will also have Shannon toonies. I know the Shannon rolls are real hard to get now, and it's a real score to pick one up at face value. The Mint must have a hoard of those rolls in reserve. They had no problem populating the coin cards with all the previously released coins. If I didn't already have the Brock and Tecumseh rolls, I would have picked up some of them also.

BiBo, since they are calling this a coin exchange, it *should* be face value. However, I won't hold my breath on that since the exchange is primarily on the new quarter. Anyhow, if it is face value, that would be $50.00 for a roll of 25. I'm OK with a limit, as I only want one, but I hope for those who are interested in more, there will be greater amounts available.

The "Exchange" is to introduce the new de Salaberry quarter, and give out the 1812 Collector cards. A card with all 6 quarters and the Twoonie cost me $3.50 - face value. If you ask for a reasonable number, you should get them no problem. Ask for 100, they may think twice about that one. Same with the rolls. If they have them, and you ask for a reasonable number, not reason why they wouldn't give them to you, unless they're short-stocked at the time. These are given out a face value too - quarters for $10, Twoonies for $50. Good luck getting what you want.

Does anyone know if there will be a coin exchange in Toronto anytime soon? They had one a few months ago for Shannon, Brock and Tecumseh at First Canadian Place.

I was told there will be a coin exchange at First Canadian Place in June for the new Laura Secord quarters. If history is any indication you'll be able to get the other coins at face value along with the holder.
