Quite a few people have private auctions - I don't see what the issue is either

private auctions - the seller can then 'prop up' the bidding without anybody knowing. Not saying it's happening in this case...it's just a possibility.

Good move. You got the last roll ever. Don't waste your time or money with the first of the last rolls.

Vunbo - first, welcome to the forum. put on your seat belt. you said "Buying the #20000 roll brought me a piece of Canadian history"
I'm sorry, but the pennies inside that roll are pretty much the same as the ones in my roll... the history you bought really is only a 'special wrapper' with a halogram and a serial number. Nice to have, yes, but worth $6,600.00 for 50 pennies - Wow $132 for each penny. That has to be some sort of record.

The last of the last million roll is somewhat historic. I could see them being displayed in a museum or somewhere regardless of whether they were the actual last pennies made.

But those coins in yunbo's roll are not THE last 50 coins minted. As far as anyone really knows, the second to last penny minted could be in roll #2. Did the mint ever say that the coins would be rolled in the order they were minted?

yunbo Congrats on a great purchase. I don't care what other people say, you have the last roll ever. Symbolic or not who cares, it's number 20,000, that all that matters.

I'm a naive guy. The reason I bought #20000 roll is that I absolutely respect the authority of RCM and Canadian government. If RCM put a #20000 label on that roll, to me, it means last roll in this release and this release is last penny rolls distributed by RCM in history! So my logic is simple like this, If anybody don't believe in RCM's authority, just ignore me.

Yunbo, congrats for having the guts and resources to get what you wanted. You definitely stepped up brother. I agree with elkslayer and rockdaddy, good on you for getting the last numbered roll of pennies that the mint will produce. Don't let anyone be a killjoy. There is no other roll that's certified to be the last roll except yours!

While not being serialized, there is no difference between first and last penny in the batch. The only tangible thing here is the label with the number. This number is a symbol. People believe in symbols and ready to die for the them. If somebody is telling that symbols have no effect on all of us, then he is just in denial.

I am new here, thank you guys for all your kindly response. I'm gonna shut my mouse on this subject, it's just a waste of time to challenge RCM's authority.
