Poll Question
Last Saturday, a few of us from Coin Community met up at a Bay City, MI coin shop. McShilling, Bpoc1, and myself. After our meeting, Brian and I have started to discuss the possibility of a "Coin Club" in our area. You would not have to be from Bay City, just near enough that you would still want to meet up. We are not sure how far this will go. We were thinking that with a coin club, we could have the chance to share more knowledge, possibly trade coins, have a reason to get out of the house, and much more. Would anyone be interested in something like this? After this poll, if there is enough interest, we will see how many times a year we would meet (maybe once a month, maybe 4 times a year, etc). Thanks for taking the time to read and vote. I have given the options for the number of times we meet in the poll. If you select "Other", please explain. Also, we are planning on meeting somewhere public such as Saginaw Valley State University, maybe the Bay City Mall, a coin shop, etc. Any other suggestions are welcomed.

Hey can we meet in Gaylord it's about half way. The closest one to me that I know of is in Petoskey and that's a bit too far. Hope you get one going.

Mike, I wouldn't be opposed to meeting somewhere more north of me. We are just hoping to get something going and not tread on any one's turf. I will keep you up dated on what we come up with.

My choice, meeting every three months. That way people can plan ahead. The meeting will stay fresh. Will not interfere too much with overall events. For location as Tim said SVSU or another public place that is central to Bay City, Saginaw and Midland or surrounding area's. We will see how many people respond to the poll before any decisions are made.

If any of you know other Coin Community Members that are from the Mid Michigan Area, be sure to direct them to this poll.

As far as where to meet? This could change and help all of us. I would be coming from the Thumb but also some from other distances. Good ideas so far.

I see more comments than I do votes! Haha. We could even maybe do a rotating meeting, like meet in 3 different cities to accommodate more members. All good things to think about.

I think you will have to go out side of CCF to find more people.

I recently spoke with Don about how many customers he thinks that would be interested in this. I think he misunderstood what I was asking because he said that he would not be interested in hosting a coin club. He said he was too busy with other things. I tried to clear things up but he was still confused. I am thinking that I will go back in Friday and talk with him some more. Maybe create a flyer for him to have on his showcase. We shall see.
