I found these two nickels while CRHing this week. The "S"s are two different sizes. Is this common for that era? Is there any significance to it?

Terrible pics I know, but the one on the right is larger than the left.

There are a few posts here on CCF, but I'm not sure how specifically useful they might be.

Search using: "Jefferson", "1941", "large", and "small" in any order.

Or, just click this link:

The large S is the variety for this date and is less common. They're worth a considerable amount of money in mint state.

Found a 53 S Jefferson yesterday. Now I have a new "s" question! The serifs on the S are not there and it is rounded, so they were never there. Does that make sense?

Probably best to start a new thread, but I would compare this '53 with another of the same date and MM. The MM design/style can change significantly from year to year.
