Can anyone give me some info on their history or what they are?

The name on the ribbon is "Ebenezer Denny", a relative of mine.

The second does have a name in the edge, but I do not recognize it.

The bottom one is the British War Medal, given to anyone from Britain or the British Empire (Canada, Australia, South Africa, etc) who served in World War I. If there is a name or service number entered on the side, you could try entering the details in the British War Records website to maybe find out more about when and where the recipient served.

Compare the two reverses. Same monument?

Was there a U. S Ship "Yorktown" about the same time?
Was your relative in the navy?

@HONDO: There was a Major Ebenezer Denny who participated in the 1781 Yorktown battle. Is the relative you have referred to a descendent of his?

The Yorktown Victory Monument was actually dedicated in 1881 as part of the centennial celebration. The medal in question was not part of the 1881 dedication.

Commems, I will need to do a bit more specific research.
Ebenezer Denny is a relative of mine, on my fathers side. I don't know much detail... However, I have a very detailed and elaborate geneology of the Denny line of my family.

I will take a look tonight and pin point exactly who was who. I will report back, hopefully with some answers.

This side of my family is very interesting with several relatives in the civil war, one who was wounded at pickets charge and survived, a Methodist bishop, etc. Having the geneology, which was written by another relative, long ago, is very cool.
