Amazing! That '35 doesn't even have the beaver design yet right?
Where do you get your rolls from? Most of mine are steel. Usually one or two older ones in it but my luck is a little better lately.
And, do you search an entire box at once? I won't have that much time to do that.

Correct the 1935 does not have a beaver.
I used to buy boxes but I was having no luck, I believe someone else was searching them so I started getting $20 at a time from the tellers and that's when my luck turned around. I also was out of town and grabbed some while I was away so I'm not sure if they came from there.

I would guess it could take me about 2-3 hours to search a box if I did it in one shot. I don't care to watch TV so I play with coins in the evening.

I don't care about the TV either, but homework is definitely eating up the bulk of my time. I'm also sure I take longer to search rolls than others because I will always sort them out by year and type when looking through them out of habit.
I always get rolls if they're not pennies, I always ask for rolls wrapped by people. I'll try getting rolls from out of town, maybe it'll be better?

Went to my pickup banks today and got some pennies. Found out that one of my tellers is retiring but she made sure to let the new girl know to not ship any pennies which is great! My other teller gave me this little gem: 1966 silver quarter.

Good deal O-train, that's the benefit of making friends!

I deal with a bank where they are not allowed to sell pennies back out but I made a deal with a teller. I bring rolls I searched, and trade so technically she is still submitting the same amount back to the mint.

Then one day I went in and there was a different lady was in the cage (the business transaction counter). I asked if there were any there to trade and she said "All I've got is a box, do you want it?".
I guess she was higher ranking because I asked if she was allowed to sell me the box and she said "It's no problem. I know that you are looking for something so good luck."

Yay for me

Hi everybody, sorry about the absence, I've been extremely busy with school and vacation. Anyways, it looks like my luck is back :-). I went to a large BMO in an undisclosed location where they had every thing! Gold Commeratives , Silver $20, and Best of All, $200 worth of silver dollars(actual silver dollars pre 1967), and envelopes full of 50 cent coins. Most of them are proofs, and I didn't get the silver for $20 coins from 3 years. ago. I am going to submit most of them for grading. If anyone wants something picked up from the branch, like gold, silver coins, etc, PM me and I will gladly give them to you for face.

Good deal wolfman. I think the situation with the pennies is similar to how the banks are supposed to ship the old/damaged bills for destruction. If they know someone is interested some tellers will make an exception because it really isn't a big deal.

Searched through 31 rolls of pennies today with older Canadian finds being: 1947 ML(2), 1948, 1952, 1953, 1956, 1957, 1958(2). Also found 2 wheat cents and a 2012 10 won coin from the Republic of Korea.

Called my bank and picked up 4 boxes of pennies yesterday, I'll post the finds tomorrow. When I called she thanked me for getting them because they don't need to pay to ship them away now... Which is weird because last time the manager says they don't ship them off.

Greatings from a newbie!
I live in the Buffalo arae and called both TD and BMO in Fort Erie asking about purchasing Canadian cent rolls/boxes. Both banks stated "We are not allowed to give them out only thake them in". It appears this is a false hood. Ant idea where I could get some? Fort Erie/Niagara Falls would be the easiest access for me.

Congrats o-train! It's always great to have someone on your side

It's great when you could talk to a high ranking teller. They could do so much more than the other tellers. One even brought out the "change tray" from behind the counter for me to look at, and I got a George VI penny

andrewbi, that's amazing! People do deposit a lot of unusual stuff. Once a teller told me that someone deposited $3000 worth of Reindeer 20-for-20s I had to ask whether I heard that right.

soulchief, how are the pennies packaged? Because as far as I know UK pennies are bigger than Canadian ones.

CoinHunterCoh, I ask for pennies from a TD bank I often go to. I talked with a teller who I am often served by, and then he went and talked with another teller (from the business services counter, who also knows that I'm CRHing, plus he told me he knew someone else who used to CRH too). They had some negotiation with the other person at the back and agreed to sell me 2 boxes.
I don't know much if you're in the US, but I simply go to where I'm familiar with. Good luck!

Edit: It seems that I'm a slower typer than you are, wolfman-11. That coin is a 20 Rappen/cents from the Swiss Franc.

Yea, they are a little bigger. They would either have been hand rolled by the bank or customer. Both times I knew there was something else in the roll because it was harder to get them to come out.

Are they in the usual type of rolls where you can buy them pre-shaped? It's a very tight squeeze, I can't get them in one.
Or is it rolled with the one sheet of paper thing?

Thank you SlurExe97. That's half or is the problem. I don't have a bank on the Canadian side. I guess I could cross and stoop in and ask maybe they will play nicely with others and sell me some.
