I used to have a 1894 one. I do regret selling that coin, it wasn't as nice as yours because mine was only VF, but it grew on me.

Up to like 1970 those Double Eagles could be bought at every money exchange agent for like 30% over melt for uncirculated coins

Now those Double Eagles are no longer available at exchange agents
So I regret selling some around 1980

I guess it is the scarcity of uncirculated grade that makes me realise they are a lot more valuable then the goldprice
Also I got intrested in history and learned to grade coins american style


I regret the necessity that made me sell
