Hehe...it happens. I picked up a bag of rolls from my bank once and in it had 5 rolls that were marked by me and had dropped off across town at a different bank.

I put a dot on the top of the roller and a line on the side.

that's pretty funny, and the fact that you got a half in change at all would have been surreal for me.

You think that is bad.

I got a box 2 weeks ago that was a glued shut Loomis box. Nothing out of the ordinary. I opened it up and there were 5 String & Son rolls mixed in with Loomis rolls. At first I thought maybe someone in the rolling room spotted some enders and swapped those rolls out with some String & Son rolls they had laying around before they shipped the box out. Then the more I looked at the box all of the rolls had been recrimped on the end by hand and half of them had been split and taped back up.

No bank I have ever gone to will take rerolled coins and I have had to unroll a box of halves so they could dump them in the machine.

I had to count all of the coins in every roll as I searched to make sure I didn't get shorted by whomever did this. Well the 3rd from last roll had my name and address written on it in someone elses handwriting and I have never written on coin rolls since I have to dump unrolled.

Now this is really getting weird. Maybe I have a multi personality disorder or something.

I start going through another sealed Loomis box and all were machine rolled when it hit me: all of the rewrapped Loomis rolls were the ones I had been paying my Home Depot bill with back in September. I assume Home Depot gets their cash and coin from Loomis and have Loomis pick up their deposits and take them to their bank but how Loomis will take the rolls taped up from Home Depot and rebox them no questions asked is beyond me.

Jack, thats not TOO weird. Somebody actually spent the halves I had searched through and marked. You just got yours back.

I spend loose halves all the time. Less I have to dump. doesn't really matter when I have a 1000 dollars worth, but when I get loose ones I spend those some times.

No doubt...I go through $30 or $40 a week just using them for things at the convenience store. Never spend more than 2 or 3 dollars at a go though. Gotten quite a few comments from people who haven't seen a half dollar in ages. Walmart's self-service checkouts take them too.

I spend halves whenever possible to lessen the dump load.

I went to Home Depot on Sunday to pay my bill and whipped out $125 in dollar coins I got from a grocery store bank hoping for halves but ended up with $315 in dollar coins.

It happens the cashier was one whom I had dumped halves on before and I proceeded to tell this same story about how I got all of the halves back so now I am dumping dollar coins which I try not to search and explained to her what to look for in error sand varieties and told her I was going to quiz her next time to make sure she knew what to look for.

I am down to $100 left in dollar coins to unload at the gas station this month since my credit company isn't offering 5% cash back on gas this quarter.

Spent halves at many places on a recent road trip. Twice, the person behind me in line asked the cashier to buy them, and also asked me if I had any more. (Always have about $5 worth in my pocket)
