I noticed that, not much has been mentioned for a long time on the forums about the new $100 bills. I don't understand what could be taking them so long. If they want to release them some time this year, as they said they were going to, they'd better announce that six months notice soon, and I mean soon, because, as I said, I was told that new U.S. currency usually is not released around the holidays. They would likely have to annouce a release date by early May, if they want to beat the holidays. Let's hope and pray that something is announced in April.

Fox, I could draw you a Tim Prusmack style version of the new $100 to keep you occupied until the real one comes out.

I found this picture of Ben Bernanke circulating those new hundreds.

It has something to do with the machine creasing some of the notes as they produce them. From what I have heard it is a costly problem.

When you look at the statistics on the whole thing the word incompetence comes to mind. If it weren't so sad it would be laughable.

throwbackid,

Supposedly there was a problem with "sporadic creasing" in the paper, but I was told, months ago that they were back in production which leads me to believe they have corrected the problem, and there were some shipped somewhere (I believe New Jersey) where someone from the airport stole $20,000 worth, but the $20,000 in new $100s were recovered. Strangely enough though, I told a credit union worker about the creasing problem, and she said "Thats not the real reason they are delaying the new $100s, but I can't tell you the real reason" which left me wondering. But there were several articles out in late 2012 that stated that the new $100s would be released in 2013, so I am just wondering when.
