"Spielmunze" is, of course, German for "play money". These pieces were made in Germany prior to World War I and exported for sale to America.
As for value, it is probably slightly more valuable than typical German play money of the period, having an American theme and therefore appealing to American collectors. But I don't have any reference books on this series.
