If so that is only on the photo and not the bill itself. There is also Specimen notes produced before the running of new type bills. The bank of Canada sold off its inventory of specimen notes going back several decades. The bills had tiny holes in them which spelled SPECIMEN. These are highly collectable. I was looking at some notes someone had and the word 'specimen" was printed in red or black on some of the notes. Jen I believe they are a lot like Pattern coins , experimental or a rough draft if you will before the final composition.
