I have a few Alexandar tetradrachma that I try to identify more precisely and to determine whether they maybe real or not.

Looks modern to me. It seems to be imitating a lifetime issue of Alexander III (the Great). Could you take a picture of the rim? Often, fakers leave a seem around the coinw hich indicates that its been cast.

Hi and thanks, not sure how to do that picture correctly.
On that coin the rim would be the set of points all around on both sides ?
What should I be looking for on the coin to make a correct pictures ?
Sorry to what seems to be such a simple question, but still learn a lot

I know next to nothing about Greek coins, but from what I can see from your pictures I think it's real. The details are excellent and not what you would expect to see in a cast copy. If it is a copy, it's was done very well.

thanks, what would you advise me on how to work on that coin to try to determine if it is real or not. As I have several of them, I'd like to work on that one to gain some experience. I have about twenty of them but they are all different and from I saw on websites, the variety in this coin seems endless.

Any input would help.

If your in Paris you can take it to the Louvre I'm sure they have someone there that would be able to help. Barring that a coin expert in your area.

I don't like the style and Zeus looks like he is holding a duck.

It looks remarkably like this modern copy on bronze.

The style certainly looks wrong in my opinion.

I would say its definitely not Greek judging from the portrait of Herekles.

The Celts made early copies of these but I can't testify to it being one of those either...

with the others. I haven't searched the databases, but the style seems too off to me.
The style of Heracles and the figure of Zeus, plus a lot of little details don't make sense.
